Fostering Dialogue on Reconciliation, Social Justice, and Leadership
The Beyers Naudé Memorial Lecture (BNML) was established to honour the profound legacy of Dr Beyers Naudé, a co-founder of Kagiso Trust and a prominent anti-apartheid activist. Dr Naudé’s unwavering commitment to racial equality and human rights inspires the lecture series. The lecture serves as a platform for critical discussions on reconciliation, social justice, and courageous leadership. This year in partnership with Rhodes University, the lecture marks the beginning of a three-year collaboration that aligns with the university’s 120th anniversary and its dedication to education and community engagement. Under the theme “Building a Nation Together: Reflections from the People,” the lecture will reflect on 30 years of South African democracy, celebrating progress while addressing ongoing challenges.
