Education Conversations 2020 Events

Providing students with the exposure to interesting topics related to higher education and leadership.

Our Goal

Through the Beyers Naudé Memorial Lecture series, we offer students the chance to engage with thought-provoking topics on higher education and leadership. In collaboration with nearly every university in the country, these popular lectures have attracted distinguished speakers, bringing fresh perspectives to the academic community.

We are honoured that the lectures are highly valued by our university partners and deeply appreciate the continued support of Dr Beyers Naudé’s family, who remain an integral part of the programme.

Overview

In 2017, Kagiso Trust secured a partnership with the University of Zululand (UniZulu) in rural KwaDlangezwa, KwaZulu-Natal. UniZulu, one of South Africa’s historically black universities, has often been viewed as a second-tier institution. Through this partnership, we aim to challenge that perception and support the university’s role in shaping future leaders.

Beyers Naude Memorial Lecture 2021 | Professsor John Lamola

A campaign where South Africans shared their thoughts about the Arch and how he has inspired their lives.

Our Goal

As part of our 30th celebrations we honoured the late Archbishop Desmond Tutu, by launching the “Odes to Arch” campaign. This campaign asked South Africans to share their thoughts about the late Arch and how he inspired their lives by sending their views through our social media and website platforms. We collected these insights in a beautifully designed and specially published book that was presented to the Arch.

Overview

“Odes To Arch” was published by Kagiso Trust in January 2016 from contributions from the public at large who shared how the late Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu touched their lives. This campaign was known as the #OdeToArch campaign.

Where leaders across corporate, civil and public shared their own pearls of wisdom that they have collected during their years of experience.

Our Goal
